Agua padded out of the Agua Tribe camp. She was proud of the work that had been done to build the new camp. She started running, and raced through the territory, loving the feeling of the wind in her fur. Then she stopped, and sniffed the air. She scented mouse. The black she-cat crouched low, and slid forward silently, pinpointing her prey and making sure that she was downwind of it. When she was two tail-lengths away, she waggled her hindquarters, then leaped. She landed with her paws on the mouse's neck, and quickly killed it. She straightened up with the limp body in her jaws. She had an urge to crush it in her powerful jaws, but she knew that she had to feed her tribe first. So she shoved the mouse behind a trash can, and padded a little bit away to try to find some more prey. But first, she closed her eyes blissfully. Life was good.

Dragon followed Agua out of camp, trying not to be seen. He knew he would be in big trouble if he got caught, but he just couldn't help it! If he was able to stalk Agua, maybe she would want to train him! He tingled at the thought. Tribe alpha as his mentor! How awesome would that be? But he was nearly out of kithood, and he didn't have much time left to make an impression. He followed the alpha, and watched as she caught a mouse and stuffed it behind a dumpster. He watched her blissfully close her eyes, she was obviously unaware of his presence.
Now! I've got to do it now, or never! He thought. He stalked up behind the black she-cat, and hurled himself at her, yowling like he was being chased by a pack of dogs.

Agua stiffened when a yowling cat landed on her back. "Intruder!" she hissed. Then she rolled over onto her back, crushing the other cat beneath her. But it still clung on stubbornly. Agua was enraged that she could've let this happen. Why did she not smell this cat? All she could smell at the time was the scents of her own Tribe... Then a sinking feeling struck as she writhed and twisted underneath the cat. Maybe one of her Tribemates was betraying her. The though made her even more mad. Agua lashed her tail in rage. Then an idea struck her. She crouched low, as if in defeat. When she felt the claws loosen their grip, she hurtled herself upward with all her strength, and flung the cat from her back. Agua whirled around to face her attacker, and saw...Dragon! The kit! "What are you doing?" Agua hissed threateningly. How dare this kit attack her?! Didn't he know any discipline?

"Ha! I scared you, didn't I? You didn't know I was even there!" Dragon danced around Agua, meowing, "I OUTSMARTED THE ALPHA! I OUTSMARTED THE ALPHA!" seeing Agua's enraged look, he changed tactics, "Look, I'm sorry for scaring you, I really am! I just had to prove myself so that I can be your novice, and you can be my mentor! Is that okay?"

Agua bristled angrily. "Well, after you acted today, you know that you have to be punished. We might even have to hold off your ceremony for another moon...you know that you're not supposed to be out of camp!" Suddenly Agua stiffened. "Dragon, run back to camp. Now." she hissed quietly. Before he could answer, she sniffed the air, and picked up a strong, rank scent. The scent of the Shadow Tribe. Agua dropped into a crouch and moved around so that she was downwind from the cat. Then after pinpointing it exactly, she pounced. She landed squarely on the cat's back, and dug her claws into it. Agua recognized the battler, Falcon Slayer. She hissed into his ear, "Get out of my territory!"

Falcon Slayer cursed silently under his breath. Shadow would kill him for getting caught. Without thinking, he twisted around so he was belly-up and shoved Agua off of him. He was pretty strong but there was no way way he could have pushed the Alpha off if she hadn't been expecting. Falcon Slayer raced off to camp, wihtout looking behind him.

Willow was sitting in camp, napping in the sunlight. It felt good on her fur and she wished she could stay in the sunlight, half-asleep forever.

What's happenings? Oh my gosh, what do I do? Dragon's head was swimming with thoughts. His alpha had just attacked a cat. He was supposed to run back to camp, but didn't want to! He wanted to help! So, that's what he did. "KEEP OFF OF MY ALPHA, SHADOW SCUM!" yowling at the top of his little bitty lungs, the tiny black and red tom hurled himself on top of Falcon Slayer, biting with tiny teeth like razors. He felt the cat scrape him, and blood welled up. But he wasn't scared. Not a bit! He'd show this intruder if it was the last think he did! And it just might be, part of his mind thought. Shut up, you! said the other.

OCC// i'm not post about the attack but L O L! And it just might be, part of his mind thought. Shut up, you! said the other. that is so funny!
Willow was interrupted from her thoughts when Silver pounced on her. Willow shoved her upward but Silver didn't go very far because of Willow's lack of awareness. Silver pounced on her again but this time Willow was ready and rolled over, so Silver ended up on on the bottom. But Silver scraped her stomach with sheathed claws and Willow got off. "Fine, you win," Willow admitted. Silver wasn't listening though. Instead she had her mouth a gap and Willow could tell that she was smelling something. Silver was the best tracker that Agua Tribe had so she could smell things from a distance. "I smell Shadow Tribe!" Silver announced and she raced off. Not only could Silver sniff things out better but she had longer legs than Willow, who was still quite young. Silver stopped behind a trash can and Willow crashed into her. "Ow!" she exclaimed. "There they are!" whispered Silver excitedly. Falcon Slayer was battling Dragon and Agua. Silver ran towards them with Willow following her as Falcon Slayer twisted free from Agua and raced back into his territory. Shadow Tribe. "What happened?" asked Silver frantically, looking over Agua and Dragon frantically. She wasn't a Healer but she was the closest thing to one Agua Tribe had. She only knew what cuts were bad and cobwebs helped and to use yarrow to get rid of poison from a cats body. It wasn't very helpful but they didn't have a Healer. Silver wished that the Ancestors could send them a Healer, and soon. Everything had changed since the new Shadow Tribe had come.

Dragon sat shaking in his black and red fur. His eyes were wide with fear at what he had done. Falcon Slayer had run away, but only because Willow and Silver had showed up. He sighed inwardly. I guess I didn't save Agua myself, after all. His head hung low, and his tail drooping, he padded up to Willow and Silver. "T-thank you for saving us," he whispered, "I really thought that I could do it on my own. I guess that I was wrong." He looked up into Willow's eyes. They looked soft and compassionate. He knew that Agua would be mad at him. But he couldn't help wishing...

"We didn't save you," Willow purred. "He ran because he was spying so don't be so hard on yourself Dragon." She knew what it was like being young like Dragon. She even felt a little bad for him. He obviously wanted Agua as his mentor badly but Willow wasn't so sure it would happen now. Willow wished Dragon had a brother or sister so she could mentor a cat. She knew she was still pretty young but her mentor had died young and she had been her mentor's first apprentice. And with the knew Shadow Tribe and all...life might be short. But that wasn't important at the moment. Silver nudged Willow and whispered,"Maybe we should go. Agua might want to talk to Dragon." "She can talk to Dragon at camp, in her den," Willow replied smartly. "Shadow may have more spies. If she does, I am ready to rip their fur off!" Willow flexed her claws and her hardened muscles bulged under her sleek, light brown pelt. She'd show those Shadow Tribe cats a thing or two about intruding if she ever saw one again.

Dragon shuffled his paws on the ground. "But still, thanks," he muttered, "I guess that Agua won't be my mentor, now. Oh well," Dragon sighed, "I was only trying to impress her so that she would choose me. I guess that's not going to happen, after all." Dragon's spirits were crushed. He had hoped beyond all measures that Agua would mentor him! But now... now that dream was crushed. Crushed into tiny bits and jumped up and down on! Burnt and thrown into the river that they fished in. Sadness overcame Dragon, and he sat sobbing at the ground, his breaths coming in sad gasps, pouring out his sadness on Willow and Silver. "I tried," he whispered, "I tried and I failed. I failed."

Silver rolled her eyes and snapped," Stop sobbing! You little-" But she was cut off by Willow's paw, unsheathed, cuffed her in the head. "Be more respectful!" she snarled to Silver, knowing that Silver was about to say, "little cry-baby." "If Agua won't mentor you, Dragon. I will. But don't worry about it now. Maybe Agua will reconsider," Willow considered. "So maybe you didn't fail." Silver suddenly slashed her on the side with unsheathed claws. "Ow!" she exclaimed. "What was that for?" "For clawing my ear off!" Silver snarled back. "But mine hurt more and it was on my side. AND it is bleeding," complained Willow. "So what? Fair's fair," answered Silver, sticking up her nose up into the air. Willow snarled and shoved Silver over and then pounced on her. They were locked in a bloody tussle until Silver came out on top again, panting. Willow waited until Silver loosened her grip and then, new cuts stinging, she shoved Silver off and pounced on silver, pummeling her belly and then bit her nose hard. Silver snarled and wiggled out of her grasp. The two she-cat snarled, ready to pounce again.

Dragon watched in horror as the two she-cats fought. He had already been stunned by one battle recently, and now this! This was between his own Tribemates! How could this happen? Dragon watched it start with Silver clawing Willow down the side. "So what? Fair's fair," Silver meowed. Then she pounced on Willow, Dragon's eyes widening with every pawstroke. "Stop... Please, stop," he whispered, his breath coming in horrified gasps. He wished he had never snuck out of camp. He wished that he had stayed napping in the nursery. He wished... he wished that these two would stop fighting! It was all because of him. It was his fault! And now, not even Agua would mentor him. Willow probably wouldn't want to either. "I-I don't deserve a good mentor like you or Agua, Willow," he mewed, "Silver, please stop! Both of you! Stop fighting! Stop! Agua, Agua please help!"
